In addition to other penalties provided in this code or by state law, any person violating any provision of this chapter by failure to pay the license fee herein imposed or violating any other provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment of not less than one day, nor more than ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court trying the cause.
