8-1-2: PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL CODES:
   A.   Adoption: For the purposes of prescribing minimum standards regulating installation and maintenance of plumbing and gas facilities in the village, the village adopts the code and standards adopted under section 60-13-44, New Mexico Statutes Annotated 1978 comp. as amended and as adopted under title 14 of the New Mexico administration code.
   B.   Backflow Valve: The backflow valve regulations in this subsection were originally enacted by ordinance 88, passed July 10, 1979.
      1.   In addition to the other requirement specifications in the code and statutes adopted under section 60-13-44, New Mexico Statutes Annotated 1978 comp. as amended and as adopted under title 14 of the New Mexico administration code, a backflow valve shall be installed in every sewer connection of all new construction within the village limits, dwellings, buildings and other structures which are connected to the village sewer system for all such connections which may be made subsequent to the date of the enactment of the ordinance codified herein.
      2.   The backflow valve shall be covered and enclosed in a valve box constructed of either concrete, redwood, or similar material.
      3.   No building permit shall be issued by the village unless the owner or contractor of such new construction agrees to install such backflow valve in a proper and efficient manner. (Ord. 334, 7-12-2005)
