The Cleveland Heights Landmark Commission is hereby established and shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by Council for staggered terms of three (3) years each, with each member serving until the appointment of a successor. A vacancy occurring during the term of any member shall be filled for the unexpired term in the manner authorized for an original appointment. All vacancies shall be filled within sixty (60) days. An extension of this time limit may be granted by City Council. In case of temporary absence or disability of any member, a member may be appointed and confirmed in the manner provided above to serve during such temporary absence or disability. Such temporary member shall possess all of the qualifications of a regular member, shall have the same powers and perform the same duties, and shall abide by all of the rules of a regular member. The Mayor and the Director of Planning shall serve as ex-officio non-voting members of the Commission.
