When authorization is given by the Chief of the Fire Department, or by such other officer or employee who may be in charge of the Fire Department in the absence of the Chief, the services of the Fire Department of the City, may be extended to any other subdivision of this State.
Fire Department members acting outside the City, and outside the territory covered by contracts authorized in Ohio R.C. 717.02 and Section 1513.01
hereof, may participate in any pension or indemnity fund established by the City to the same extent as while acting within the City, and such members are entitled to all rights and benefits of Ohio R.C. 4123.01 to 4123.94, inclusive, to the same extent and while performing service within the City, provided that such members are acting upon such authorization.
Ohio R.C. 701.02, so far as it is applicable to the operation of fire departments, applies to the City and members of the Fire Department thereof when such members are rendering service outside the City pursuant to this section and Ohio R.C. 717.021.
