Every motorman, driver, conductor or other person having charge of any street car in operation upon any street railroad in the city shall stop or cause such car to be stopped to receive or let off passengers who may desire to get on or off such car at such street as the city council has or shall hereafter designate by ordinance,* and at no other streets or points, except as hereinafter provided.

At all points where a "positive" stop made under the provisions of Section 9-124-260 and a "service" stop made under the provisions of this section fall within close proximity one to the other, the stop required to be made under the provisions of this section shall be eliminated.
Positive stops made under the provisions of Section 9-124-260 shall include, for public safety, all stops made at boulevard intersections.
Street cars shall also stop, whenever desirable, at all stations of intersecting elevated railroads. At points where a "service" stop made at an elevated station, as herein provided and a "service" stop made under the provisions of the first paragraph of this section fall within close proximity to one another, the cars shall make the "station" stop only.
No motorman, driver, conductor or other person having charge or control of a street car in operation upon any street railway in the city, in stopping such car at an intersecting street for the purpose of receiving or discharging passengers, shall stop or cause such car to be stopped at any other than the nearest crossing in the direction such car is going.
All persons operating street cars within the limits of the city for the transportation of passengers shall construct and maintain at all points on unpaved streets where such cars stop to receive or discharge passengers, a proper landing of cinders or other suitable material so as to enable passengers to board or alight from such cars without discomfort or inconvenience.
Rules regulating the running of cars and stopping for passengers shall be posted in a conspicuous place in each car, and shall be in letters of such size as to be easily read from any part of such car.
