All community representatives, business representatives and at-large members shall be selected through a community-driven nomination process, in which any interested person may nominate any eligible person to the mayor. In order to be eligible, a nominee must (a) be within one of the categories of membership described in Section 2-151-020; (b) be at least 18 years of age; and (c) give his or her consent to the nomination. Nominations shall be solicited from local and city-wide organizations, and from the public at large. No later than 60 days before the expiration of terms, the coordinating council shall announce through appropriate advertisement and distribution of information that nominations will be accepted in accordance with this section. A nomination must be in writing and shall include the category or categories for which the nominee is eligible. Nominations must be submitted to the mayor no sooner that 45 days and no later than 30 days prior to the beginning of the term for which a person is nominated; provided, however, that nominations for the restructured coordinating council created pursuant to the terms of this amendatory ordinance shall be submitted within 30 days after the effective date of this ordinance. Selection of community representatives, business representatives and at-large members shall be limited to nominations received by the mayor within the specified time period.
