2-36-620 Reciprocal contracts for emergency services – Continuation authority.
   Pursuant to Section 14 of the Emergency Telephone System Act ("the Act"), and subject to approval by the corporation counsel as to form and legality, the fire commissioner shall have the power to: (1) enter into a joint powers agreement with any public agency as defined in Sections 2.01 or 2.02 of the Act, or to enter into any other form of written cooperative agreement with any such public agency, in connection with the provision of emergency services outside of jurisdictional boundaries; and (2) certify the continuation of such agreements on behalf of the fire department and the city. Copies of such agreements and of the annual certified notification of continuing agreement required by Section 14 of the Act shall be filed by the fire commissioner, no later than January 31st of each year, with the Illinois Attorney General and the Illinois Commerce Commission as required under Section 15 of the Act.
