5-1-13A: PENALTIES AND PROCEDURES FOR PAYMENT OF FINES FOR PERMITTING DOGS TO RUN AT LARGE:
   (A)   In order to eliminate burdening courts with first and second violations of Section 5-1-13 of the City Code making it unlawful to allow or permit dogs to run at large, and to eliminate insofar as possible, public inconvenience, each person receiving a citation for allowing or permitting a dog to run at large, shall:
      1.   For the first offense, pay to the City Clerk within seventy-two (72) hours of the service of the citation, a sum as established by resolution.
      2.   For the second offense within six (6) months from date of the first offense, pay to the City Clerk the sum as established by resolution within seventy-two (72) hours from the date of service of said second citation.
      3.   Within ten (10) days from the date of service of any of said citations, if the same has not been paid within the seventy-two (72) hours above prescribed, pay to the City Clerk an additional sum as established by resolution for each such citation, the additional sum being deemed necessary to defray administrative costs, mailing expense, telephone costs and other administrative and clerical costs.
   (B)   Any person who pleads guilty to or is found guilty of a third offense within six (6) months, in violation of Section 1-13-18 of the City Code, shall be punished as provided in Section 5-1-26 of the City Code. (Ord. 511, 1-25-93; amd. Ord. 706, 11-23-2020)
