ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
(A) A Carroll County Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is hereby established.
(B) The purpose of the EAC is:
(1) To participate in the development of broad policy plans designed to guide the county’s environmental future;
(2) To review specific issues of environmental concern and assist the County Commissioners to protect the county’s environmental heritage, conserve the county’s natural resources, and restore environmentally degraded areas within the county;
(3) To advise the County Commissioners and the citizens of the county of actions that could be taken to improve the quality of the environment in the county, as well as of any that may threaten it;
(4) To assist with environmental educational efforts; and
(5) To serve as the Carroll County Tree Commission.

(A) Nine persons shall be appointed by the County Commissioners to serve as the membership of the EAC. The membership should represent a cross-section of the citizens of the county and should be selected by the County Commissioners to generally represent the agricultural, business, development, environmental communities and citizens at large.
(B) Members of the EAC will be residents of the county and will be appointed to serve terms of four years. Appointments shall be staggered such that individual terms are overlapping.
