505.07 HUNTING AND LEG-HOLD TRAPPING PROHIBITED.
   (a)   No person shall hunt, kill or attempt to kill within the City any wild or domestic animal by the use of firearms or any other means, except as provided in subsection (d) hereof.
   (b)   No person shall trap any wild or domestic animal within the City, through the use of leg-hold or body-gripping traps.
   (c)   A leg-hold or body-gripping trap is defined as any spring-powered device which captures or holds an animal by exerting a lateral force with fix-mounted jaws on the leg, toe, paw or any other part of the animal's body. This definition specifically includes traps commonly known an "steel jaw traps" and "Conibear traps".
   (d)   Nothing in this section shall prohibit trapping with leg-hold or body-gripping traps within the water confines or limits of any lake, pond, river or stream; or the use of live traps or live trapping techniques insofar as they are not otherwise prohibited or regulated; or the trapping of mice or rats by commonly designed mice and rat traps.
   (e)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
