1187.17 SIGNS PERMITTED IN ALL DISTRICTS.
   (a)   The following signs shall be allowed within the City without having a zoning permit issued:
      (1)   Real estate signs, non-illuminated, indicating the subject property it is located on is for sale, rent or lease.
      (2)   Temporary construction signs, non-illuminated, naming the project, developer, etc. and erected no earlier than forty-five days prior to construction and taken down no later than thirty days after construction.
      (3)   On premise directional signs, no larger than eight square feet and having no advertising except for the name of the business.
      (4)   Temporary Sidewalk or Roadside Signs, non-illuminated, no taller than eight feet tall, and no more than sixteen square feet footprint at the base and in its entire area occupied, with no more than thirty-two square foot area on either side for advertising, provided the sign can be and is removed from the temporary location and placed inside the place of business when the business is not open for business or in operation. These signs shall only be placed or situated in front of the business of which they pertain or within the proximity of the business of which they pertain provided placement does not reach past the street line directly in front of the façade of the business location now shall placement reach outside a prolongation of the property line of the building or structure in which the business is established and located to the nearest street line. These signs shall not hinder any type of vehicular traffic or pedestrian traffic; maintaining a 6' clear pedestrian right-of-way. These signs must be designed and built in a manner they will not fall, collapse, or in any other way cease to stand as intended, and they must be designed and built in a manner they will not provide harm in any way to any person. These signs must be removed from the public right of way when any work, improvement, rehabilitation, repair, improvement, and or any other use of said right of way area, abutting street, or to any utility in the area is deemed necessary by the City and said work is to be performed on the sidewalk or the street or any other area that may require the sign to be temporarily removed from the site with no regards to the hours of operation of the business or entity.
      (5)   Political signs, non-illuminated, no larger than thirty-two square feet.
      (6)   Nameplate, two square feet or less and affixed to the wall.
      (7)   As regulated through other sections of this Chapter.
