(a) Applications for permits for the installation, modification, repair, removal or abandonment of aboveground and underground storage tanks shall be accompanied by payment of the following fees:
(1) System installation | $125.00 per system |
(2) Tank upgrade | 150.00 per tank |
(3) Tank repair | 100.00 per tank |
(4) Tank removal | 175.00 per tank |
(5) Tank replacement | 200.00 per tank |
(6) Temporarily out of service | 175.00 per system |
(7) Piping replacement (only) | 175.00 per location |
(8) Piping upgrade (only) | 75.00 per location |
(9) Piping repair | 75.00 per location |
(10) Piping installation (only) | 75.00 per location |
(11) Piping removal (only) | 175.00 per location |
(12) Leak detection upgrade | 75.00 per location |
(13) Tank abandonment (in place) | 175.00 per tank |
(14) Piping abandonment (in place) | 175.00 per location |
(15) System change in service | 150.00 per system |
NOTE: Items (1) - (12) are applicable to both aboveground and underground storage tanks; items (13) - (15) are applicable to underground storage tanks only.

(b) The foregoing permit fees shall be paid to the Fire Prevention Bureau prior to the beginning of any work concerning such uses. Any person, firm or corporation who fails to obtain permits required by this chapter prior to the beginning of work shall be required to obtain and pay for the permits which were originally required and in addition thereto shall pay a penalty twice the amount of the original permit fees.
