1505.03 BUILDINGS ACCOMMODATING MORE THAN TWENTY PERSONS.
   (a)   All existing buildings with an occupant load of more than twenty shall be provided with an automatic fire alarm system. Additionally, a single station smoke detector shall be installed in such a manner and location that it shall provide an alarm suitable to warn the occupants within the individual guest room, suite or sleeping area. The manner and location of the detector shall be approved by the Fire Prevention Bureau. In buildings having basements or cellars, an additional smoke detector shall be installed in the basement or cellar in a location approved by the Fire Prevention Bureau.
   (b)   For purposes of installation and maintenance, the automatic fire alarm system and/or single station smoke detector shall comply with the applicable section of the National Fire Protection Association approved standards and primary power shall be by alternating current (AC), noncord connected.
