(a) "Building" means a hotel, motel, lodging house, boarding house or college dormitory used for shelter and sleeping purposes.
(b) "Multi-family dwelling" means an apartment or condominium having more than three residential units rented or leased to tenant or owned and operated by an association of owners, and which is seventy-five feet or less in height.
(c) "Smoke detector" means a readily removable device sensitive and responsive to any products of combustion or combination of such products, except detectors which are sensitive to and respond to heat only. Detectors shall utilize a photo-electric cell or ionization chamber. Detectors, devices, equipment and components shall be approved or listed for the purposes for which they are intended by the Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. or other approved testing laboratory.
