All plans and specifications which may be required by the City Chief Building Official/Plans Examiner, to be submitted prior to issuance of a permit, shall be examined by the City Chief Building Official/Plans Examiner for acceptability under the provisions of this chapter and the City Electric Code and the provisions of the National Electric Code pertaining to telecommunications wiring. Fees for the processing and inspection of plans and specifications shall be as follows:
(a) New Installation Plans. The processing and plans examination fee for new installation shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
(b) Alterations and Repairs. There shall be no processing fee upon submission of plans and a permit application for alteration or repair of existing telecommunications installations. In the event that the submission of plans is required by the City Chief Building Official/Plans Examiner for a proposed telecommunications system alteration or repair, the processing and plans examination fee shall be fifty cents ($0.50) per each one hundred square feet of floor area being serviced by the proposed alterations or replacements.
(c) There shall be no fees charged for plans examinations made by the City Chief Building Official/Plans Examiner for new or replacement telecommunications installations with respect to one-, two- and three-family residential dwellings.
(d) Upon written application to and approval by the City Safety Director, the plans examinations fees and also the permit fees provided for under this chapter may be waived with respect to any telecommunications installation or wiring work proposed to be performed in or upon any State or local government facility.
