(a) No person shall install, alter, repair or replace telecommunications wiring, devices or apparatus covered by this chapter without first obtaining a telecommunications installation work permit for the proposed work from the City Electrical Inspector, with the exception of performance of minor work such as changing outlets, jacks or connectors, the insulating of bare joints, repairing of drop cords and other similar work determined to be minor work within the discretion of the City Chief Building Official.
(b) When requested by the City Chief Building Official/Plans Examiner, the applicant for a telecommunications installation permit shall furnish plans and specifications completely describing the work to be installed before a permit will be issued.
