If an HVAC/R contractor finds that any heat exchanger or space heating equipment is leaking products of combustion or that space heating equipment is otherwise so defective as to require replacement, the contractor shall advise the property owner or his agent and the HVAC/R Inspector, in writing, that the leaking or defective condition may be verified upon request by the owner at no charge by the HVAC/R Inspector. Forms for the purpose of this notification will be furnished by the HVAC/R Inspector.
