1301.10 INSPECTION OF STRUCTURES AND EQUIPMENT.
   (a)   When a structure or any appurtenances or parts thereof of a building is a danger to life or property, it shall be the duty of the Chief Building Official , upon finding any of the things hereinbefore enumerated to be defective or in a dangerous condition, or being constructed in violation of the Building Code, to cause to be delivered to the owner, lessee or occupant, written instructions to remove or remedy the same in such manner and within such reasonable time as may be necessary.
   (b)   Whenever, in the opinion of the Chief Building Official, by reason of defective or illegal work in violation of a provision or requirement of the Building Code or the continuance of a building operation is contrary to public welfare, he may order in writing, suspension of work relating to the violation until the condition in violation has been remedied.
