(a) A full-time employee may use up to 3 scheduled workdays with pay to attend the funeral or memorial service of the employee's spouse, child, stepchild, sibling, parent, stepparent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling-in-law, or parent-in-law. An appointing authority may require proof of death and the employee's relationship to the deceased.
(b) If the funeral or memorial service is more than 150 miles from Canton, the employee may use an additional 2 scheduled days' sick leave.
(c) A full-time employee may use up to 2 days of sick leave to attend the funeral or memorial service of other relatives or close personal friends upon written request to the employee's appointing authority or elected official.
