151.06 HOLIDAYS.
   (a)   All full-time employees, elected officials, salaried personnel in the Law Department, and part-time court referee shall be entitled to the following paid holidays:
      January 1, known as New Year’s Day;
      The third Monday in January, known as Martin Luther King Day;
      The third Monday in February, known as Presidents’ Day;
      Good Friday, generally celebrated by Christian faiths;
      The last Monday in May, known as Memorial Day;
      June 19, known as Juneteenth
      July 4, known as Independence Day;
      The first Monday in September, known as Labor Day;
      November 11, known as Veterans’ Day;
      The fourth Thursday in November, known as Thanksgiving Day;
      The fourth Friday in November, known as the day after Thanksgiving;
      December 25, known as Christmas Day.
   (b)   In the event that any paid holiday falls on Saturday, it shall be celebrated by all City employees on the immediately preceding Friday and in the event it falls on a Sunday, it shall be celebrated on the immediately subsequent Monday.
   (c)   A holiday which falls on a working day within a vacation time-off period will not be considered as part of the vacation period and an additional day of vacation with regular pay will be granted for such holiday. Such additional day shall be assigned by the department head and meet the employee’s desires where practicable.
