(a) The Police Department is authorized to provide police protection and services to other political subdivisions or governmental entities outside the corporate limits of the City. The Chief of Police is designated as the responsible officer to provide authorization for the provision of such services. The extension of police protection and services may include the use of the City's equipment, K-9 Corps and vehicles.
(b) Such services of the Police Department shall be authorized only when, in the discretion of the Chief of Police, such services are warranted and will not endanger the City by leaving the City without adequate police protection.
