131.01 WORKING HOURS.
   (a)   The working hours of all policemen shall not exceed forty hours per week. Such
limitation, however, shall not apply under the following circumstances:
      (1)    In case of necessary appearances in court.
      (2)    In case of emergency special duty assignments as may be determined by the Chief of Police.
      (3)    During periods of extraordinary emergencies caused by riots, strikes, extraordinary crime waves or similar conditions, whenever the Mayor determines the same to exist.
   (b)   Nothing contained in this section shall affect any of the provisions of these Codified Ordinances or any other ordinance of the City relating to vacations, leaves of absence or salaries of policemen in the City. (1964 Code § 207.52)
