The following schedule of rental rates and other charges is established for the Civic Center:
(a) Rental Rates.
(1) Civic Center Arena Base Rent | $1,100.00/day |
(2) Civic Center Arena Rate (trade and flat shows) | 1,100.00/day base rent plus 10% of gross sales less applicable sales tax |
(3) Civic Center Arena Rate (ticketed events open to general public) | 1,100.00/day base rent or 10% of gross sales less applicable sales tax, whichever is greater, capped at $10,000.00 |

All base rents for the Civic Center shall increase one hundred dollars ($100.00) every two (2) years beginning on January 1, 2006. All base rents for the McKinley Room shall increase fifty dollars ($50.00) every two (2) years beginning January 1, 2006.

A minimum of one (1) operations staff person will be scheduled during all hours of licensee’s access to the Civic Center facility. The number of operations staff may be increased during event hours. All operations staff levels will be determined for each event by the Civic Center Manager.
All hourly rates for Operations Staff, Police, Fire and EMS personnel shall increase by $0.25/hr. annually beginning with events contracted to occur on or after January 1, 2006.
The Civic Center engages outside event staff for use at Civic Center events. Permittee shall pay the going rate for any event staff required at the Civic Center.
The Civic Center also engages the Stagehands Union to provide contracted labor pertaining to stage productions. The licensee shall pay the going rate for any stagehands required at the Civic Center.
(c) Other Services and Fees.
(1) Civic Center Facility Fees | $1.00 on top of the promoter ticket price for entertainment events. $0.50 on top of the promoter ticket price for trade and flat shows. No Facility fees on top of the ticket price for amateur or high school sporting events. This fee is sole property of the City of Canton, less applicable taxes. |
(2) Box Office Fees | Apply to Entertainment Shows only. 3% of gross sales less applicable taxes, capped at $3,000.00. The City will maintain complete control over all ticket sales, box office, and ticket revenues until settlement. The City will remit Ohio State Sales Tax to the proper agency. |
