921.03 RESPONSIBILITIES OF CITY AND PROPERTY OWNERS.
   The City of Canton’s participation in the Cityscape Sidewalk and Curb Program shall include the removal of all eligible sidewalks, curbs or combined curbs and gutters within the designated sidewalk replacement projects. The City of Canton shall either provide or reimburse one hundred percent (100%) of the cost of the bricks, decorative streetlights, trees, tree grates and granite curbs at a cost determined by the City Engineer’s office. The City of Canton shall either provide or reimburse one hundred percent (100%) of the cost of the additional labor for the installation of the bricks, decorative streetlights, trees, tree grates, granite curbs and the electrical requirements beyond that of a normal sidewalk in compliance with City standards at a rate designated by the City Engineer’s office. The City Engineer’s office shall have final approval of the layout and design of the sidewalk and curb. The participating property owners shall be responsible for all of the remaining costs associated with the construction of the new or replacement sidewalk, curb or combined curb and gutter, to include, but not be limited to, excavation, vault abandonment, engineering, grading, drainage and construction, which shall be performed pursuant to the City of Canton’s specifications and in accordance with governing ordinances. The property owners shall also be responsible for negotiation with any utility companies for the relocation of any utilities affected by the project.
