913.01 ASSIGNING NUMBERS; SIZE AND MATERIAL.
   All houses and buildings on any streets, avenues, alleys, or fronting on any public place of the City, shall be numbered according to the street numbering plats made for the City by the City Engineer and now on file in his office, and as may be hereafter made and prepared. Numbers shall be assigned to all such houses and buildings by the City Engineer in accordance with such street numbering plats. Such numbers shall be placed on such buildings as hereinafter provided. Numbers shall be neatly painted, stamped or enameled upon zinc, japanned tin, iron or other suitable material and shall be not less than three inches by two inches in size. However, any person shall have the right to number his house or building in an ornamental manner.
