521.17 SAFETY ZONES NEAR FIRE.
   (a)    Whenever, in the opinion of the Director of Public Safety, the Chief of Police or Chief of the Fire Department, it becomes necessary to provide a safety zone at any fire for the protection of pedestrians or to avoid hampering or impeding firemen in their work, the Director of Public Safety shall require the Police Department to provide and establish rope lines at such points as shall be necessary.
   (b)   No person other than City officials, members of the Police or Fire Department or persons especially delegated by them, or representatives of the press, shall remain or pass within such roped off safety zone, or push or crowd against such ropes and damage or break the same. All persons within the safety zone shall immediately withdraw from the same upon the order of any police or special officer, fireman or the Director of Public Safety. (1964 Code § 807.51)
   (c)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
