§ 159.01 DEFINITIONS.
   (A)   Generally. As used in this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings:
      APPROVED. Means in accordance with regulations promulgated by the codes and ordinances of the city.
      CODE. Means the Property Maintenance Code of Cambridge, Ohio.
      DULY DESIGNATED. Means the Police Chief, Fire Chief or City Engineer.
      DWELLING. Means any building which is wholly or partly used or intended to be used for living or sleeping by human occupants.
      OCCUPANT. Means any person living, sleeping, cooking or eating in a dwelling unit.
      PERSON. Means any individual, corporation, association or partnership.
      PREMISES. Means a lot, plat or parcel of land, including buildings or structures.
      PROPERTY INSPECTOR. Means the public officer or other designated authority charged with the administration of this code herein referred to as Property Inspector.
      RENTAL DWELLING. Means any dwelling which is rented, let, leased or a similar arrangement, to someone other than the person holding title to such property and where the owner receives money, services or other consideration for the use of such dwelling.
      STRUCTURE. Includes buildings for any occupancy, fences, signs, sidewalks, steps, billboards, fire escapes and railings.
   (B)   Meaning of certain words. Whenever "dwelling", "rental dwelling" or "premises" are used in this Code, they shall be construed as though they were followed by "or any part thereof".

§ 159.02 TITLE; PURPOSE.
   (A)   Title. These regulations shall be known as the Property Maintenance Code of the City of Cambridge, Ohio, herein referred to as Property Maintenance Code or "The Code". It is limited to the establishment of minimum maintenance standards of all structures and buildings within the city.
   (B)   Purpose. The purpose of the Code is to protect the public's health, safety and welfare by establishing minimum standards governing the maintenance and appearances of structures and premises within the city.
