12-11-15: PERMIT FEES:
   (1)   Payment Of Fees: Applicants for permits issued pursuant to this article shall pay to the building official fees established by the building official by rule and regulations subject to the approval of the city council.
   (2)   Refunds: Before commencement of any activity regulated under the issuance of a valid permit, the building official may authorize the refunding of no more than eighty percent (80%) of permit fees paid, when requested in writing by letter or form, and all rights granted by the permits are terminated. Plan review fees and deposits, if any, shall not be refundable. (Ord. 2910, 5-21-2012)
12-11-17: ELECTRICAL PERMIT:
All electric signs shall require an electrical permit issued by the building official. (Ord. 2799, 7-20-2009)
12-11-19: PROJECTIONS AND CLEARANCES:
All signs shall meet the requirements set forth in section 403 of the uniform sign code and the international building code, or section 10-02-06 of this code, whichever is most restrictive. (Ord. 2799, 7-20-2009)
12-11-21: CONFLICT:
When any part of this article is in conflict with any other portion of this code, the most restrictive shall apply. (Ord. 2799, 7-20-2009)

12-13-01: ADOPTION OF INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE, INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE, AND PART V AND PART VI OF THE INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE FOR ONE- AND TWO-FAMILY DWELLINGS:
The following international codes are hereby adopted for the purpose of establishing standards, rules and regulations for heating, ventilation and air conditioning in buildings in the City of Caldwell.
   (1)   The International Mechanical Code, 2018 edition, including appendix A, as adopted by the state of Idaho or the Idaho building code board, together with any amendments or revisions made by the Idaho heating, ventilation, and air conditioning board through the negotiated rulemaking process;
   (2)   Intentional Fuel Gas Code, 2018 edition, including appendices A, B, C, and D, as adopted by the state of Idaho or the Idaho building code board, together with any amendments or revisions made the Idaho heating, ventilation, and air conditioning board through the negotiated rulemaking process; and
   (3)   Part V and Part VI of the International Residential Code for One and Two- Family Dwellings, 2018 edition, as adopted by the state of Idaho or the Idaho building code board, together with any amendments or revisions to the international building code made by the Idaho building code board through the negotiated rulemaking process.
Copies of the above references codes, inclduing amendments or revisions made by the Idaho heating, ventilation, and air conditioning board, are on file in the office of the building official. (Ord. 2975, 8-18-2014; amd. Ord. 3305, 12-20-2020)
12-13-02: AMENDMENTS TO CODE:
!!! IMC section 202, definition for "Registered Design Professional," is amended to read as follows: An individual who is registered or licensed to practice their respective design profession as defined by the statutory requirements of the professional registration laws of the state of Idaho. For purposes of this definition, the term "design profession" shall be limited to the practices of architecture and engineering.
IMC section 903 "Factory Built Fireplaces" add new section to read as follows:
Section 903-4 Provisions for mitigating indoor air pollutants emitted by unvented gas fireplaces. Unvented gas fireplaces shall not be permitted without the installation of a supplemental whole-house ventilation strategy, which will serve to provide a non-passive outside air source to the living space during the time of fireplace operation. Such a strategy may be provided through the installation of an approved air-to-air heat exchanger, or an engineered ventilation system designed to mitigate those combustion by- products emitted by the unvented gas burning appliance.

12-13-03: PERMITS REQUIRED:
   (1)   Obtaining Permit: It shall be unlawful for any person to do, or cause to be done, any mechanical equipment installations without first obtaining a mechanical permit issued by the building official authorizing such work to be done. (Ord. 2716, 12-3-2007)
