(A) The officers and members of the Police Department shall have power to arrest all offenders against the laws of the State or of the City, by day or by night, in the same manner as other police officers of the State.
(B) Whenever such police officers shall be in the fresh pursuit of an offender against any law of the State or of the City, and the offense has been committed within the corporate limits of the City, such police officer, while in such fresh pursuit, may go beyond the corporate or geographical limits of the City for the purpose of making such arrest.
(C) The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Department shall have authority to call upon any person to assist him in making an arrest, capturing or retaining in custody any person. Any person, when so requested, who shall refuse or fail, to the best of his ability, to render such aid as required shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (Ord. 457, 9-4-1951; amd. 1981 Code)
