Section 5.4. Building Commissioner.
The building commissioner shall be the head of the division of building and shall be appointed by the mayor, either as an employee or under contract to the City, subject to confirmation by Council. The building commissioner shall be responsible for the performance and oversight of the duties of the division of building, which shall include directing and organizing the division, program administration, planning, building inspections, business, zoning, property maintenance and building code enforcement, issuance of permits; and other duties at the direction of the mayor.
