§ 91.999 PENALTY.
   (A)   (1)   Warning notices. Persons who violate any provision of this chapter, or whose animals violate any provision of this chapter, or who fail to comply with the registration and permit sections of this chapter, may, for the first offense, be served with a warning notice requesting immediate compliance, except that in the case human beings’ or other animals’ health and safety are endangered, the offending animal may be immediately impounded or may be humanely slain by a police officer or his or her designee or a humane officer, if such impoundment is not feasible.
      (2)   Citations. Any person who violates any provision of this chapter, except where otherwise specified herein, shall be subject to a civil forfeiture of not more than $2,500, nor less than $25, for the first offense, $50 for the second offense and $75 for each offense thereafter. If any violation is continuing, each day’s violation shall be deemed a separate offense.
      (3)   Reduction. All penalties shall be reduced by 50% if paid within 72 hours of notice to the offender.

   (B)   A first violation of § 91.057 of this chapter shall be $15 for a licensed animal and $25 for an unlicensed animal. A second offense is $50 and a third offense is $75. All penalties shall be reduced by 50% if paid within 72 hours of notice to the offender.
   (C)   (1)   Any person violating any of the provisions of § 91.071 of this chapter shall be fined not more than $100 for the first offense and not more than $250 for each subsequent offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.

      (2)   All penalties shall be reduced by 50% if paid within 72 hours of notice to the offender.
   (D)   A person or entity who violates § 91.073(A)(8) of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction punishable by a fine of not more than $50.
