9-11-1: PURPOSE:
The purpose of this chapter is to provide a just, equitable and practical method, to be cumulative with and in addition to, any other remedy provided by this Code, or otherwise available at law, whereby buildings or structures which, from any cause, endanger the life, limb, health, property, safety or welfare of the general public or their occupants, may be required to be repaired, vacated or demolished. (1952 Code § 4-11-01)
9-11-2: ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS CODE ADOPTED:
All the rules, regulations and ordinances of a general and permanent character relating and applying to the repair, vacation or demolition of buildings endangering life, limb, health, property, safety or welfare of the general public or their occupants shall be governed by the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, the 1997 edition, printed and published under the authority of the International Conference of Building Officials. Copies of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings duly certified by the City Clerk are on file in the Office of the City Clerk for use and inspection. (1952 Code § 4-11-02)
