505.20 HUNTING AND TRAPPING REGULATED.
   (a)   No person shall hunt, kill, attempt to kill, or trap any animal or fowl by the use of firearms, bow and arrow, air rifle or any other means within the corporate limits of the Municipality, except in special cases as follows:
      (1)   A law enforcement officer or animal warden in the discharge of his or her duties;
      (2)   Person(s) authorized by the Chief of Police while participating in a city authorized animal control or deer management program utilizing a firearm and in conjunction with the State of Ohio, Division of Wildlife (ODOW);
      (3)   A state licensed nuisance animal trapper in the discharge of his or her duties;
   (b)   No person shall set or maintain any trap within the municipality, except under the authority of the owner or lawful occupant of the premises and the Chief of Police.
   (c)   In any case described herein, the use of net and bolt trapping (trap and bolt trapping, rocket net and bolt trapping, or other like methods) is strictly prohibited.
   (d)   Any city-authorized animal control or deer management program (including "Special Permits" indicated below in 505.201) is subject to annual review by City Council for the purpose of evaluation of efficacy, costs, methods, and expressed approval for continuation.
   
   (e)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
