1470.02 ASSIGNMENT OF NUMBERS.
The Building Inspector is hereby directed to assign a number to all residences, apartments, stores, commercial buildings and all other buildings in the City, which number shall be determined from the plans and diagram prepared by Michael P. Auer, now on file with the Building Inspector. If the plans and diagram do not contain the street upon which the building is erected, then the Building Inspector shall assign a number in accordance with the general principles set forth on the plans and diagram, so that all numbers on buildings shall be continuous from north to south and from east to west, and so that all numbers shall be arranged so that corresponding numbers on parallel streets will be in the same block, insofar as possible. Effective January 1, 2011, the parcel addresses for all corner lots shall be determined by the location of the driveway. Except in the case of corner lots, all building numbers now in use in the City shall be deemed to be assigned in accordance with this section, unless the person in control of a building receives written notice from the Building Inspector that the number being used is improper or incorrect. Within five days of receipt of such written notice, the person having control of such building shall cause to be displayed upon the building the corrected number assigned by the Building Inspector.
