(a) The City of Avon Lake Council shall establish a Board of Appeals appointed to serve as the Appeals Board. The members of such Board shall consist of the members of the Zoning Board of Appeals for these regulations as established by the Avon Lake Zoning Code, Chapter 1214. The members shall serve five year terms after which time they shall be reappointed or replaced by the City Council and the Mayor of the City of Avon Lake. Each member shall serve until his/her successor is appointed.
(b) A chairperson shall be elected by the members of the Appeals Board. Meetings of the Appeals Board shall be held as needed and shall be held at the call of the Chairperson, or in his absence, the Acting Chairperson. All meetings of the Appeals Board shall be open to the public except that the Board may deliberate in executive sessions as part of quasi-judicial hearings in accordance with law. The Appeals Board shall keep minutes of its proceedings showing the vote of each member upon each question and shall keep records of all official actions. Records of the Appeals Board shall be kept and filed in Public Works Department at 150 Avon Beldon Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012.
