(a) See § 1804.99 for penalty and equitable remedies if no specific penalty is provided.
(b) The Aston Township Building Code Official (BCO) or employee of the township designated thereby for the purpose, is hereby authorized to issue a violation notice with a seven day deadline and ticket warning to the owner or occupant, as the case may be, of any premises which fails to comply with the provisions of §§ 1860.08 or 1860.09, directing and requiring such owner or occupant to remove, trim or cut such weeds, grass or overgrowth, so as to conform to the requirements of those sections. If the owner or occupant fails to comply with the warning within this time period, a ticket will be issued on the property’s door or by United States mail, setting a fine of $50 per offense for residential properties and $100 for commercial properties. This fee may be amended from time to time by resolution of the Board of Commissioners. Failure to pay this fine within 14 days of issuance of the ticket will result in the issuance of a citation as set forth in § 202.99. If the weeds or grass continue to grow through this process, the township authorities may remove, trim or cut such weeds, grass or overgrowth and the cost thereof, together with any additional penalty authorized by law, shall be collected by the township from such person in the manner provided by law or under the Municipal Claims and Liens Act, being 53 P.S. §§ 7101 et seq.
(c) Whoever is found guilty of § 1860.06 shall be issued a minimum fine of $50, cost of restitution and sentenced to eight hours of community service. For each subsequent conviction, a minimum fine of $75, cost of restitution and a minimum of 25 hours of community service shall be assessed. Notice to offender is not necessary in order for offender’s actions to constitute an offense under such section.
