   925.09 SERVICE CONNECTIONS.
   (a)    Tapping Water Mains. No person except an employee of the Water Department shall be permitted to tap or make any connection with the mains or distributing lines of the Water Department. Where a water main is in the street right of way, the service line will be extended from the main to the property line.
   (b)    Broken Services. Any person who causes a service between the main and the curb cock to be broken or damaged shall be responsible for exposing the service line. Subsequently, repairs will be made by the Water Department at the expense of the person causing said damage.
   (c)    Inside Meter Settings. In roughing in a plumbing job sufficient space shall be provided for the required meter. The property owner shall install a valve on the user's side of the meter.
   (d)    Cross Connections not Permitted. No service pipe connected with the water supply shall be connected with pipes supplied with water from any other source.
   (e)   Operation of Curb Stops. Only authorized personnel of the Water Department shall be permitted to open or close curb stops or gate valves. The only exception shall be an authorized plumber who is making repairs. (Ord. 79-18. Passed 12-18-79.)
 
   925.10 TAPPING REGULATIONS.
   (a)   Tap Charges. Tap charges shall be in accordance with Section 925.13 .
   (b)   By-Pass. All meters two inches or larger shall have a by-pass installed around the meter, with a by-pass valve sealed by the Water Department. Any tampering with the by- pass seal shall be dealt with as an unauthorized turn on and a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) fee shall be charged.
   (c)   Meter Pits. Eighteen inch diameter pits shall be constructed and maintained by the Water Department. Anything over eighteen inches in diameter shall be constructed per Village regulations at the property owner’s expense.

   925.11 MONTHLY WATER RATES.
   (a)   The following water rates shall be in effect from the March meter reading date in 2009, through the February meter reading date in 2010.

   925.12 MINIMUM CUBIC FOOT BILLED FOR EACH METER SIZE.
   (a)   The following minimum cubic feet billed for each meter size shall be billed at the current rates, beginning with January 2015 usage and meter reading and February 2015 bill, and a 2% increase each year thereafter.

      (2)   Outside rates. The minimum outside water rate charges are double the inside charges on each water meter size.
      (3)   All calculations shall be rounded up at .5¢ to get to the nearest penny.
      (4)   Council may suspend the two percent (2%) rate increase from year to year, by approval of Council, if revenue exceeds expectation.

   925.13 WATER SERVICE TAP FEES.
   The following fees for water service taps will be effective as of the effective date of this section:
   (a)   Inside Corporation Tap Fees.
      (1)   All tap fees shall be the current cost of material plus ten percent (10%).
      (2)   In addition to the tap fee, when applicable, material costs will be added such as street opening, sidewalk opening, boring fees, etc.
   (b)   Outside Corporation Tap Fees. All outside tap fees and applicable charges are double the inside fees.
   (c)   Tap Removal Fee. When demolition of a structure occurs, and it is determined the service to that structure is no longer needed, a tap removal charge shall be added to the demolition permit.
Tap removal fees shall be the current cost of material plus ten percent (10%).
