9-2-2: BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION:
   A.   Bureau Established: There is hereby established a bureau of fire prevention which shall enforce all fire prevention ordinances adopted by the village. Said ordinances shall be referred to as the fire prevention code of the village. The bureau of fire prevention shall be under the direction and supervision of the fire chief, and all fire inspection work of the bureau shall be under his authority.
   B.   Director Of Bureau 1 :
      1.   Appointment And Term: The village president shall appoint a member of the Worth fire department as director of the bureau of fire prevention. The director's appointment shall be for one year from May 1 through April 30 of the following year.
      2.   Duties:
         a.   The director and his assistants shall enforce all the fire laws and regulations of the village and the state.
         b.   The director shall maintain reports of all inspections made according to insurance services office (ISO) guidelines and shall submit a written monthly report to the fire chief of the Worth fire department detailing bureau activities.
         c.   The director shall maintain memberships in the basic national fire prevention code of the Building Officials And Code Administrators International, Inc. (BOCA) and the International Fire Inspectors' Association.
         d.   The director shall submit to the fire chief any requests for additional fire inspectors or training for fire inspectors as may be necessary.
   C.   Annual Report: A report of the bureau of fire prevention shall be made annually on May 30 and transmitted to the chief executive officer of the village; it shall contain all proceedings under this code, with such statistics as the chief of the fire department may wish to include therein; the chief of the fire department shall also recommend any amendments to the code which, in his judgment, shall be desirable.
