ORDINANCE NO. 95-13
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 1995 VILLAGE CODE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF WORTH, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.    Code Accepted By Courts. From and after the date of passage of this Ordinance, the Village Code of the Village of Worth, Illinois, prepared by Sterling Codifiers, Inc., containing the compilation of all ordinances of a general nature together with the changes made to said ordinances, under the direction of the Village President and Board of Trustees, shall be accepted in all courts as the Official Code and Law of the Village as enacted by the President and Board of Trustees.
Section 2.    Code Adopted. There is hereby accepted, as a method of perpetual codification, the loose-leaf type of binding together with the continuous supplement service, provided by Sterling Codifiers, Inc., whereby each newly adopted ordinance of a general and permanent nature amending, altering, adding or deleting provisions of the Official Village Code is identified by the proper catchline and is inserted in the proper place in each of the official copies, three (3) copies of which shall be maintained in the Village Clerk's office, certified as to correctness and available for inspection at any and all times that the Clerk's office is regularly open.
Section 3.    Continuation Of Existing Ordinances. All ordinances of a general nature included in this Official Village Code shall be considered as a continuation of said ordinance provision and the fact that some provisions have been deliberately eliminated by the President and Board of Trustees shall not serve to cause any interruption in the continuous effectiveness of ordinances included in the Official Village Code. All ordinances of a special nature, such as tax levy ordinances, bond ordinances, franchises, vacating ordinances and annexation ordinances shall continue in full force and effect unless specifically repealed or amended by a provision of the Village Code. Such ordinances are not intended to be included in the Official Village Code.
Section 4.    Tampering With Code. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to change or amend by additions or deletions, any part or portion of such Code, or to insert or delete pages or portions thereof, or to alter or tamper with such Code in any manner whatsoever which will cause the law of the Village to be misrepresented thereby.
Section 5.    Distribution Of Codes. The Village Clerk is directed and authorized to distribute one copy of the Code and all supplements to the Worth Public Library and two copies of the Code and all supplements to the Presiding Judge of the Fifth Municipal District. The Village Clerk is authorized to sell copies of the Code and current supplements to the public for $100.00 per copy.
Section 6.    Repeal Of Inconsistent Ordinances. All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 7.    Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after its passage and publication as provided by law.
