150.063: CITY REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
   A.   It is unlawful for any person to engage in the business of installing electrical equipment for lights, heat or power, trade or occupation of an electrical contractor, journeyman or apprentice, in the city, unless he is registered with the code enforcement office and has a current and valid certificate of registration issued by the code enforcement office.
   B.   Only a person who has a current and valid license as an electrical contractor or journeyman issued by the state construction industries board may register as such with the code enforcement office; and only persons who have current and valid certificates of registration as an electrical apprentice issued by the state construction industries board may register as such with the code enforcement office of the city.
   C.   Upon application to the code enforcement office, the applicant shall give full name, residence and place of business, and in case of removal from one place to another, shall make a corresponding change in the register accordingly and the payment of the required fee to the city clerk's office. The code enforcement office shall register such applicants and issue to them certificates of registration.
   D.   City certificates shall not be valid after the termination or expiration of state licenses of certificates. Registration certificates of electrical contractors, journeymen or apprentices issued as provided herein shall expire July 31 of each year.
   E.   For all certificates of registration authorized by this subsection, there will be charged and collected the following fees:
 
Electrical contractor
$300.00 initial year; $50.00 per year renewal fee thereafter (if not renewed by July 31, renewal will be $300.00)
Electrical journeyman
$15.00 per year
Electrical apprentice
$10.00 per year
 
   F.   The electrical contractor shall be responsible for the payment of all fees required herein for all journeymen and apprentices under the contractor's supervision. (Ord. 1541, 11-7-2011)
