92.47: WRITTEN NOTICE REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Notice Required: Upon determination that the property must be cleaned or mowed, the fire chief shall cause written notice to the owner of the property to be sent through certified mail, return receipt requested, to the owner of the property at the address shown by the current year's county tax rolls. The fire chief may also cause the notice to be posted on the property or published in a newspaper of general circulation. If the owner is not identified or fails to receive the notice, notice must be published or posted at least ten (10) days prior to the cleaning or mowing.
   B.   Content Of Notice: The notice must give the property owner at least ten (10) days to clean the property of trash or to mow the weeds, as appropriate. The notice shall state that unless the work is performed within ten (10) days from the date of the notice, the work shall be done by the municipality and that a notice of lien shall be filed with the county clerk for the costs due and owed the municipality. The notice shall also state that the city may clean or mow the property, as needed, within the next six (6) months without further prior notice to the owner, with such additional costs being added to the lien after notice of the costs to the property owner and the thirty (30) day payment period. The property owner should be informed that he may appeal the costs of any further cleaning or mowing by filing an appeal within ten (10) days after subsequent notice of additional costs. The notice may give the location of the property by street address and/or legal description. (2001 Code § 92.47)
