92.31: OPEN BURNING; EXCEPTIONS:
   A.   Prohibition: No person shall cause, suffer, allow or permit open burning of refuse or other combustible materials within the city.
   B.   Exceptions: The prohibitions of this section shall not apply to open burning under the following circumstances:
      1.   Upon written application to the fire chief and upon a permit being issued authorizing open burning:
         a.   For the instruction and training of public and industrial firefighting personnel;
         b.   For the elimination of fire hazards which cannot be abated by any other means;
         c.   For the removal of dangerous and hazardous material where there is no other practical or lawful method of disposal; and
         d.   For recreational and ceremonial occasions, or for outdoor commercial preparation of food.
      2.   Open burning for outdoor noncommercial preparation of food. (2001 Code § 92.31)
