A. Required: It is unlawful to operate a vehicle of any kind upon a street of the city without an owner's security verification form which is required to be carried in the vehicle (or operator's security verification form), or an equivalent form issued by the department of public safety reflecting liability coverage which shall be produced by the driver for inspection upon request of any law enforcement officer or person affected by a collision.
B. Exemptions: Exemptions from requirement of carrying the aforementioned form or surrendering the form for registration:
1. All vehicles owned or leased by any agency of a city, county, state or the federal government.
2. Any vehicle with deposit or self-insurance on file with the state department of public safety and which has the name, logo or symbol of the business on the vehicle, provided proof thereof is forthcoming from the vehicle operator.
3. Any vehicle with a permit number from ICC or OCC.
4. Any licensed taxicab.
5. Any licensed used motor vehicle dealer.
6. Any vehicle bearing an out of state tag, as provided in 47 Oklahoma Statutes section 7-601B.
7. Any vehicle which is not being used upon public streets or highways (such as an ancient vehicle), provided an affidavit is first filed with motor license agent. (2001 Code § 70.031)
