70.012: ELUDING POLICE OFFICERS:
   A.   Any operator of a motor vehicle who has received a visual and audible signal, a red light and a siren from a police officer driving a motor vehicle showing the same to be an official police car, directing the operator to bring his vehicle to a stop and who wilfully increases his speed or extinguishes his lights in an attempt to elude such police officer, or who does elude such police officer, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
   B.   A person who shall violate a provision of this section or fails to comply therewith or with any of the requirements thereof, shall be guilty of an offense, and shall be subject to penalties as set forth in this title. (2001 Code § 70.012)
