4.13.16: ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES:
   A.   The Director of the City's Office of Building and Zoning and the Director's designees (including third party building inspectors) shall administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter and are further hereby authorized to cause inspections for rental units, and other buildings when reason exists to believe that a violation of this chapter has been or is being committed.
   B.   Any person, firm or corporation violating any portion of this chapter, shall be fined in accordance with section 1.4.1 of this City Code for each offense plus the City's cost of prosecution including, but not limited to, its attorneys' fees. Each day that a violation continues or persists shall be deemed a separate offense.
   C.   Unless otherwise specifically provided for in this chapter, the City shall initiate adjudication procedures in accordance with Title 1, Chapter 7, Article L of this Code to settle contested matter(s), to achieve compliance with this chapter, to assess penalties and fines, and to collect outstanding obligations.
   D.   Nothing in this chapter shall limit the City's authority to pursue enforcement of the City's Code at any time. Nothing in this chapter however is deemed to limit other remedies or civil penalties available to the City under this Code or state law. (Ord. 22-O-46, 9-6-2022)
