There is created the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village. For purposes of the Administrative Appeal process established pursuant to Chapter 15.72 of this code, the Zoning Board of Appeals shall also be known as the Building and Zoning Board of Appeals.

A. Members; Terms. The Board shall consist of seven members appointed by the Village President and confirmed by the Village Council. Each member of the Board shall serve for a term of five years and until a successor has been appointed.
B. Qualifications. All members of the Board shall be residents of the Village.
C. Officers. The Village President shall designate one of the members of the Board to serve as Chairperson of the Board. The Chairperson shall hold that office until his or her successor is appointed. Such Chairperson or, in his or her absence, the acting Chairperson, may administer oaths and compel attendance of witnesses.

A. Removal. The Village President, with the approval of the Village Council, shall have the power to remove any members of the Board for cause and after a public hearing.
B. Vacancies. Vacancies on the Board shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose place has become vacant, in the manner provided in this chapter for the appointment of a member.
