A. Definitions:
BICYCLE: A device propelled by human power upon which any person may ride, having two (2) tandem wheels.
IN-LINE SKATE: A manufactured or assembled device consisting of an upper portion that is intended to be secured on a human foot, with a frame or chassis attached along the length of the bottom of such upper portion, with such frame or chassis holding two (2) or more wheels that are longitudinally aligned and used to skate or glide, by means of human foot and leg power while having such device attached to each such foot or leg.
SCOOTER: A vehicle consisting of a narrow board or a narrow metal or plastic platform mounted between two (2) wheels tandem with an upright steering handle attached to the front wheel, typically propelled by the foot, or a similar motorized vehicle.
SKATEBOARD: A rectangular or surf board shaped board, constructed of wood or any other material, with a set of four (4) or more roller skate wheels mounted under it or any similar contrivance upon which a person may glide on roller skate wheels over a street, sidewalk or other smooth surface.
B. Prohibition: It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, propel, skate, glide or otherwise use a skateboard, in-line skates, bicycle or scooter on any public ways or public property located in the Village of Winfield where prohibitive signs are posted. (Ord. 2012-08-31, 8-2-2012)
