941.01 DEFINITIONS.
   (a)   “Alley” means any street or highway intended to provide access to the rear or side lots or buildings in urban districts and not intended for the purpose of through vehicular traffic, including any street or highway that has been declared an “alley” by Council as also defined in the Traffic Code.
   (b)   “Garbage” means animal and vegetable waste resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
   (c)   “Private premises” means all structures, and the lots or land upon which they are located, owned by an individual, partnership, association, company, church or corporation, whether occupied or not.
   (d)   “Recyclable trash” means items that are recommended for recycling, including: paper, newspaper, glass bottles, metal cans, and certain plastic containers that can be recycled.
   (e)   “Residential dwelling” means a single family residence, including duplexes and fourplexes, that is used exclusively as living quarters.
   (f)   “Rubbish” means combustible and noncombustible materials, except garbage, including, but not limited to, the following: wood and other combustible materials and their residue, paper, rags, clothing, cartons, boxes, rubber, leather, tin cans, glass crockery, mineral matter, items containing any type of metal, stoves, refrigerators, televisions, radios, household appliances and other similar items.
   (g)   “Sidewalk” means that portion of a street between the curb lines, or the lateral lines of a roadway, and the adjacent property lines, intended for the use of pedestrians as also defined in the Traffic Code.
   (h)   “Street or highway” means the entire width between the boundary lines of every way open to the use of the public as a thoroughfare for purposes of vehicular travel as also defined in the Traffic Code.
   (i)   “Trade garbage” means all refuse as mentioned in Section 941.01(b), which accumulates in connection with the operation of hotels, cafeterias, restaurants, groceries, markets, factories and all places other than dwellings where food or other perishable matter is kept and used.
   (j)   “Trade rubbish” means all waste material of an inorganic nature which accumulates in connection with the operation of stores, hotels, cafeterias, restaurants, factories and all places other than dwellings where food or other perishable matter is kept and used.
   (k)   “Yard trimmings” means the trimmings that result from grass cuttings, weeding, shrubbery maintenance and trimming, and waste resulting from light pruning of trees that is customarily done by a homeowner. These items are banned from Lake County landfills.
