1460.01 PERMIT REQUIRED; FEE.
No person shall wreck or demolish any building or structure in the City without first obtaining a permit therefor from the Department of Engineering and Building and paying the fee for such permit as set forth in Chapter 210 of the Administration Code.
1460.02 NOTIFICATION OF UTILITIES; REMOVAL OF CONNECTIONS; HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.
Before a building or structure can be wrecked, the owner, wrecking company or person who obtains the permit for such purpose shall notify all utilities having service connections within the building, such as water, electric, gas, sewer and other connections. A permit to wreck a building shall not be issued unless a release is obtained from the utilities, stating that their respective service connections and appurtenant equipment, such as meters and regulators, have been removed and/or sealed and plugged in a safe manner, nor shall a wrecking permit be issued until the Department of Engineering and Building is satisfied, after receiving a written report from the public utility companies concerned, that such wrecking operations may be accomplished in such a manner as not to create a hazardous condition as a result of the proximity of such public utility installations.
(Ord. 39. Passed 10-15-74.)
1460.03 REQUIRED PROTECTION.
After obtaining a permit from the Department of Engineering and Building as well as the permission of the Department of Public Works, or of any other City department, required for the occupancy of any public property, the wrecker shall proceed to erect all required protections and shall then notify the Department of Engineering and Building to inspect the same before proceeding with wrecking.
