656.07 UNAUTHORIZED TOUCHING, FORCE OR VIOLENCE. (REPEALED)

656.08 ASSAULT; ASSAULT AND BATTERY.
   (a)   Assault. No person shall offer to perform or willfully or intentionally perform an act that places another person in reasonable fear or apprehension of an imminent battery.
   (b)   Assault and Battery. No person shall wilfully or intentionally perform an act that places another person in reasonable fear or apprehension of an imminent battery or thereby willfully or intentionally touch another person in a harmful or offensive manner.

656.09 BATTERY. (REPEALED)

656.10 MINOR'S CURFEW.
   (a)   Children Under Twelve. No minor under the age of twelve years shall loiter, idle or congregate upon any public street, highway, alley or park or in any public place in the City between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the day immediately following, unless such minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian or any adult over the age of eighteen years delegated by such parent or guardian to accompany such child.
   No minor under the age of twelve shall be in an automobile between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day unless such minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian or any adult over the age of eighteen years delegated by such parent or guardian to accompany such child or when the minor is upon an emergency errand or other legitimate purpose directed by his or her parent or guardian.
   (b)   Children Under Fourteen. No minor under the age of fourteen years shall loiter, idle or congregate upon any public street, highway, alley or park or in any public place in the City between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the day immediately following, unless such minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian or any adult over the age of eighteen years delegated by such parent or guardian to accompany such child, or when the minor is upon an emergency errand or other legitimate business directed by his or her parent or guardian.
   No minor under the age of fourteen shall be in an automobile between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day unless such minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian or any adult over the age of eighteen years delegated by such parent or guardian to accompany such child or when the minor is upon an emergency errand or other legitimate purpose directed by his or her parent or guardian.
   (c)   Children Under Seventeen. No minor under the age of seventeen years shall loiter, idle or congregate upon any public street, highway, alley or park or in any public place in the City between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. of the day immediately following, unless such minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian or when the minor is upon an emergency errand or other legitimate business directed by his or her parent or guardian.
   No minor under the age of seventeen shall be in an automobile between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. of the following day unless such minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian or any adult over the age of eighteen years delegated by such parent or guardian to accompany such child or when the minor is upon an emergency errand or other legitimate purpose directed by his or her parent or guardian.
   (d)   Aiding Violations of Underage Children. No person shall assist, aid, abet, allow, permit or encourage any person under the age of seventeen years to violate any of the provisions of this section.

656.99 PENALTY.
   (EDITOR'S NOTE: See Section 202.99 for general Code penalty if no specific penalty is provided.)
   (a)   An individual who violates Section 656.08(a) or 656.08(b) is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by up to a five hundred dollar ($500.00) fine and/or imprisonment for not more than 93 days.
   (b)   Minors violating the provisions of Section 656.10 shall be dealt with in accordance with the Michigan Juvenile Code and the Michigan Juvenile Court Rules.
